What I gathered from the presser was this:
The issue of domestic violence and personal conduct in the NFL didn't just appear overnight. The league, including the commissioner, owners, players, etc., knew that problems existed and sat back and did nothing because they were making money. Yes, the buck does stop with Goodell, but what about the owners, coaches, the players and the NFLPA for turning the other cheek and not putting pressure on the front office to do more when it comes to punishment for personal conduct including domestic violence. Why did it take TMZ and social media to bring this matter into focus?
Goodell was foolish to take all the responsibility on his own to do all of the punishment on his own and now he's going to go to D. Smith to help cover his arse. I saw a bumbling, stumbling arse of a man sit up there dodging questions because there was no justification for why the front office appears so arrogant yet so naive on this issue. At the end of the day, he has not been held accountable for his own mishaps and mistakes. If they really cared about the players, they should have visited ALL avenues and not just their personal safety. But of course they didn't. As long as they were making money, who cared.
