Anyone know what is going on with the work on Jones Creek? They did alot with moving phone lines but have not seen much happening in months.

Hopefully just fixing the road, its like riding a roller coaster between Tiger Bend and Coursey.

new lift station

I heard they had to rebid the road work due to a law suit from one of the bidders. I believe the story said it would be several more months before the job could even be rebid (Spring 15?) which doesn't make any sense. It could also be that the city is waiting to see what happens with St. George......

New lift station
I pass this everyday and wondered what was being built.
What the hell is a lift station?

That should only take what...10 years?

It's a pump station to send sewage to the waste water treatment plant. It's called a lift station since it is transporting from lower elevation to higher elevation. Unlike other areas of the country, we can't rely on gravity to move our shite!

They went ahead and patched some holes in the road so I bet it's going to be a long time for them to do any work on the road. Shame...

technically it still uses gravity
it just lifts it up higher an sends it down another slope
prevents you from having to dig the gravity-flow sewer lines deeper and deeper and deeper
(at least in most cases, i'm not familiar with this exact location)
