Talking about Sproles

We'll see where he is down the stretch, but he's been a monster for them thus far. They'd likely be 0-2 without him as crazy as that sounds. I still think his production will decrease a great deal as the season carries on.

Why is everyone so obsessed with our former players? Cooks will be incredible for us. I'm happy for Sproles but the move had to be made

For the sake of how much it stings to watch him, I hope so. For his sake, I hope he carries on.

Why does it sting to watch? Our offense is so crowded he would have gotten very few touches this season, 4 running backs getting touches is just way too many

I think they should go ahead and restructure his contract and pay the man for the games he is winning for him, front load the damn thing, guaranteed money . Pay that man!!
But for real though, it was even obvious to idiots and retards like PeteJ and Kige that Sproles and Brian Kelly's system goes together like Sharper and roofies.

This. I'm happy for Sproles, but:
1. He wouldn't have gotten the same touches here, as he is in Philly
2. Our offense is #1 in points scored, and #2 in yards. His absence isn't the issue, unless he can play DB or rush the passer.
3. He was on the block for at least a month, with rumors of him being cut. This wasn't a knee jerk decision, and obviously the 5th is the best offer that we received.
4. There's a salary cap. Someone had to go, and we were pretty deep at his position.
5. The Ravens gave away a WR (Anquan Boldin) that they didn't want to pay at his current price for a 6th round pick, and he put up 1,179 yards/7 TDs last year. That's the nature of the league.
The only thing I hate about it is he's with a team that will utilize him better than any other team, but you can't force another team to give you a higher pick.

You're right, Sproles would probably kill it at Notre Dame.
Should they have not taken the highest offer because Sproles would be too good of a fit in their offense?

What more could we have gotten for a 31 yr old Running back that can't play every down?

Because in my eyes he could be producing like he is for us. I know we went a different direction and we have a good crew, but every time I see him producing exciting plays and yards after contact I miss what he was doing for us.
