That's why we seem lacking in on-field talent.

Goodell was trying to make sure that Payton's Saints would not win another SB.

When you have a team that takes Patrick Robinson in the first round.. Then refuse to cut him. Losing a #2 pick is the least of your worries.

It's not the reason, but I wouldn't mind us having two 2nd round CBs to try out. One of them could have panned out. We might not have taken a CB though. The fact is that we made some bad decisions. Ingram is playing well, but we could have gotten other RBs in later rounds and used the pics we have up on more important parts of the team. The difference between a good team and a bad team is drafting well. We haven't drafted at the same success rate as we did in the run to our SB. Now we have all these contracts that make it harder to get better. We just need a CB though and maybe another rush LB to help Gallette.

No, losing those picks has nothing to do with our current situation.

The reason you are right about this is because drafting quality NFL talent has nothing to do with winning football games.

Drafting and Winning have no connection whatsoever. In fact, you could take away ALL drafts from the Saints and that would have no affect on the on-field talent.

We know that's true because you said so and you are so football smart AND you said I was "dumb" so you win the argument.

Doesn't matter. They would have screwed up the picks anyway.

There might be a connection between losing draft picks and winning football games.

One of those 2nd round picks might have been a better player than P Rob.

Are you saying that P Rob is better than any possible player that the Saints could have picked in the 2nd round of those two draft years?

That's what it seems to me that you're saying.

Sounds good to me, but, I'm not saying losing the picks is the MAIN reason, I'm just saying that it is playing a role.

Of course, I'm just trying to save face here. The truth is that I'm a ridiculous person.

That's OK…if we keep playing like this, we'll be vying for the overall 1st Round pick in the 2015 Draft.
