So after beating Sam Houston you think we are out of the woods with growing pains?

This team can beat any opponent on any given Saturday - it's just a matter of doing it.

Can someone please tell me why people keep believing that Florida will beat us? I mean, any team can beat us just like we can beat any team. But, why are people all over the Florida game?

Yeah I think Auburn will give us fits running the ball.

we will be extremely competitive in every game, which is all that you can realistically ask for in this type of league.

we are not world beaters like we and bama were in 2011, but nobody else is either and i like our talent and determination in toss-ups.

there are more real contenders for the west than there have been in a while, and the reality is that we are one of them. will be an enjoyable (and stressful) season.

Nah. Pasadena for the Rose Bowl Semi-Final game!

No conclusion is worth anything until after the trips to the Swamp and the Plains.

But, yes, with such little info to go on, we are looking pretty ok. However, the DT's and MLB play better get a lot better, or the team will underachieve. 91 got spanked by Wisky, and was not tested against smallish SHSU. And of course #31 is still slow as Christmas.

yeah, honestly, and it pains me to say it, i see us losing at least 3, possibly 4 .. sec west is strong, and we are young, albeit talented .. my gut says we split miss state, at auburn, at florida, ole miss, alabama, at arkansas, and at texas am.

Intermediate passes seem to be missing. Situations like 3rd and 8, we are throwing the ball 30 yards down field rather than just moving the chains.
A 30 yard completion will move the chains on 3rd and 8!

But seriously, I like the deep ball emphasis. It's a heck of a lot easier to run the ball (and complete short/intermediate routes) if the other team is constantly worried about covering the deep part of the field. And you only have to complete about 40-50% of those deep balls to keep them honest back there.

Depends in how much the West beats up on each other. We will lose a couple but this year we could stay in the hunt. No one will escape the meat grinder of SEC play unscathed this year, we really need wins over AU and Bama if we want to win the Div.

Auburn is the key game. Win that game, and we could really be something special.

The goal of every single LSU team is the same. If you are looking for predictions then that's different but this team can definitely go all the way and end up undefeated.

I love this team. The great youth that they have gives them a great chance to swag their way straight to the playoffs.

You'll see then when we play someone with a pulse. Actually you saw a glimpse when we struggled with a mediocre Wisconsin team.

I wish I could say this team has exceeded my expectations.

I expected us to win convincingly vs. Wisky; a close score, but a dominating win. Instead, I saw our Oline dominated for much of the game and our front 7 beat for an entire half. The offense played well enough for 8 minutes of gametime to win and the defense played a great second half. So, game 1 was under my expectations.

We all expected to dominate vs. SH, right? So game 2 is a wash.

I won't know what I think of this team until after Miss. State.

I was pleasantly surprised how the team played fast, intense and focused out of the gates Saturday and stayed that way the whole game. I know its a rent-a-win, but frankly, LSU is usually pretty sloppy and going through the motions in those games.

My only concerns are the DTs and one particular LB that is always 3 steps late to the pile.

Agreed. Could finish 8-5 or 15-0. I lean more toward 10-3 once again with a bowl victory.

11-2. We lose at Auburn but win the west then lose to undefeated UGA in the SEC title.

End up boned and going to cotton bowl as Auburn or Bama goes to the Sugar
