Is it really that off limits to make a joke about a gay dude having sex?
Posted on 9/11/14 at 8:49 am to houshamazilla
It wasn't that offensive to stop hanging gameday banners!

Is the sign even offensive to Michael Sam?
Follow me on this......
I have no idea if Michael Sam has a partner, or plays the field, or does whatever it is that your gay fellows do in terms of reaching their sexual gratification. The sign - to the extent it mentioned Michael Sam - simply states that "he's getting the D tonight".
Let's flip the coin, if you will. Who's the most noted and known heterosexual cockhhandler in the world right now (I know half the OT is raising their hand right now). Charlie Sheen maybe? For arguments sake, and arguments sake only, grant me that. What if we'd have been playing Kentucky, and the DKE's put up a sign that said "Charlie Sheen isn't the only one beating up on some cat tonight". Is Sheen offended, or flattered?
Again, all the sign says, to the extent it talked about MS, is that he is reaching his sexual goal tonight.
Unless, of course, he's strictly a pitcher, the sign calls him a catcher, and he'd take offense to that.

Well that would ruin the pun.
The sign is borderline inappropriate, but I don't see how it is offensive.
Tebow tapping his foot in Middleton is not offensive BTW.

I'm sure this was the final straw not that one banner was more offensive than another

Exactly.
I'd like to see Tebow prove that he DOESN'T tap his foot in middleton.

It's the Orwellian "Thought Police" coming down the street...bend over and take it like a man, oops, don't arrest me!!!
DKE's may apologize, but given the chance, they will and would do it again...They have been that way at LSU since before I got there over 40 years ago...
GEAUX DKE's

How many straws are given out?
What is the number?

No more 1st amendment. Got it.
When you represent a university, on university property, you kinda have some rule that you need to follow. Those assholes should have been banned at some point after the Aurora banner or the Kent State banner.

The fact that they caved so easily makes me think there are other parts to this puzzle as well.
As in, maybe national has finally had enough and will no longer be "supportive"

Is it offensive for me to assume Sam is a generous lover, and dabbles in both?

Maybe Sam gives the D instead of getting it

Maybe the D was supposed to mean denial from NFL rosters??
Posted on 9/11/14 at 9:01 am to houshamazilla
Why was the Sam sign offensive, he knows what he does and wanted the sports world to know it.

Both banners were abhorent but I agree the Kent State one was worse.

LSU probably wanted to end it there before they did something like mocking 911 or the death of a soldier. It would get nationwide attention and a lot of negative press for LSU.
Surprise LSU had the balls to do anything, they generally let the frats go wild.
