Interesting. You get three minutes to plate your dish, but there will be no place for warming or heating. What would you prepare, hungryone? (Unless you're auditioning and don't want to give away your ideas.)

Oh hells to the naw. I don't watch any of those food competition shows, and Lord knows I wouldn't want to BE on one. I just got the press release and thought some of this board's denizens might be interested.

But back to the question: I'd pick something very visually appealing, with good color contrast....it's got to look good on the plate.

A copy of a 5 Guys Burger & side of red jambalaya would work

I've actually wondered what would stop someone to going to a restaurant and picking up a restaurant quality dish to-go and bringing it up there and trying to pass it off as their own. I mean, it would come out sooner or later if you couldn't cook but it really makes you wonder.

I did this 3 years ago. I made it through the first 3 or 4 sets of cuts. I didn't make it through the cuts where you have to submit a 5 minute video of your typical daily life.

Haha...that would be one booorrrriiinggg video in my case. Look at me feeding the cat, look at me weeding the tomato patch, look at me softboiling an egg. Now I'm driving across the MS river bridge. Whee! Watch me read a cookbook, surf the internet, and do some writing...

Nah. My personality isn't off the wall enough for reality TV.

I really only did it bc I thought it would be fun and b/c the "talent scout" who approached me about it at The Bulldog was hot as hell.

I wish I could remember her name.

Do it!!!

Apparently, since I have MasterChef USA taping, I get the bonus of MasterChef Canada. First season of it. First two shows last night were okay. They were given a whole chicken and one skillet, one burner and no other cooking devices.
