Im rewatching the game and actually think Galette played well enough...he was held multiple times per quarter that were not called, but seemed a lot quicker than the o lineman.
Also had several outstanding open field tackles, just sucks he was the one who had to make them since our secondary tackling was atrocious
Eta: yea Galette did def seem to take a few plays off, hopefully was just frustration (not that that is okay, just haven't ever really noticed him do that before. Don't think ita related to the contract though)

Kenny, Cam, and White were the most dissapointing

I agree with Vaccaro in particular.
Didn't hear name called in the 1st half.
PS - Zombie (how cool) - u can suck it

He seemed pissed after. Said he missed more tackles this game than all of last year (sounds about right), so hopefully he steps up and does something about it...confident he will be okay

Well Ryan had KV playing 30 yards out in BFE, so there's that. Also saw lots of holding not called on both sides. They were really watching for the new rules/calls. Saw several of those, but I cannot remember holding being called the whole game, on either team.

Why because you're a frickong moron and he called you out on it?

Yeah, it seemed like we started with the "bend but don't break" defense to prevent big plays. Looks like Ryan doesn't trust the corners after Lewis.

Byrd and Vaccarro were playing 25 yards off the ball. They really had no chance of making many plays at all as evidenced by their names not being called much.
I was disappointed that Cam, Hicks and Gallett did not get more pressure. But when you rush 4 guys against 5 O lineman and a running back, you can't expect much.
I was disappointed in the defensive playcalling and unwillingness to adjust in the second half.

A minimum of 3 times Galette was tackled by his neck and Jersey and no one threw a flag. Same for Cam Jordan. I'm not worried one little bit about our dline.
Our linebackers however were nonexistent in that game. Which is probably about half their fault and half Rob Ryan's. As for our corner backs, we have 1. We need to fix that because out current roster is fricked at that position. And my guess is in Cleveland our safeties won't play 30ish yards off the LoS every single play

I was very, very disappointed in Vaccaro and Patrick Robinson in this game. I think Gallette played decently enough, but that's not going to cut it. We need Jordan and Hicks to show up too.

This. They were trying to minimize the effect of Julio, Roddy, Harry, and Devin. Let them catch the ball, then tackle for no YAC. Problem is they didn't tackle much at all.

They were existent, but not in a good way. I have no idea why they would ever play a 2 deep cover 2. They do not have the LBs to play that. Lofton and Hawthorne did fine against the run. But don't put them in a scheme that won't fit.
Prob was nowhere near his guy all afternoon. They need to play man with Byrd single high and KV the roamer.

exactly

this has been an ongoing issue for years; however, Ryan's system is designed around the Safeties manning many of the LB duties. Still, we need a serious upgrade at the position

yup. I have never been impressed with PattyRob, and yesterday didn't help. He is way too inconsistent.

this is an unfair criticism. Ryan gameplanned this with a reason, and I am guessing it was due to his believing in his DL along with knowing Matty Lice loves to chuck the ball downfield to Julio and the gang. Did it work? No. But I'm not going to question is game planning when he has a proven track record with this team along with us not knowing a damn thing that goes on in their meetings
