You should move this to the Money Talk board for better advice.

Good luck.

Don't know pricing nor your budget but:

Complex right off of Hwy 30 by I-10

I don't recall the one in Dutchtown being that expensive, on 74 once you cross the I-10 overpass.

I'd also look at the one on Airline just north of 621.

Try the Gates at CitiPlace or the Reserve. It's a little pricier but for the kids and amenities it's worth it.

Eta just saw you want near AP. Try the apartments east of i10 at HWY 30

Try Oakleigh on Perkins near Bluebonnet and Siegen. Good price, decent location. My brother used to live there. It's spacious but not overly fancy and would suit your situation well.

Gates at Citiplace is another good choice.

Lakes at Dutchtown would be my choice.

My best advice to you is to take a shower, because when you're married you're still not getting any in the morning.

Hate to recommend a place I hated but I was in same situation. Oakleigh was perfect. Gated with two pools. And cheaper than most. On Perkins

There are some new apartments at the corner of Highland and old Jeff. A 1bd was something like $700 or so.

What amenities ? All of them will have a pool.

The best feature is location but he said close to Prairieville.

Sadly the nicer ones are across the street. The reserve. It's all section 8 and won't let him in. highland club is across 73 and prolly best option. I deliver pizza to all these places. HC full of professional single parents.
