You sound like you wear that as a badge of honor, but in my opinion, you are the worst kind of fan. It reminds me of what I see in a lot of Alabama fans, Notre Dame fans, and USC fans, although Alabama fans (yes you know what's coming) are the worst. The arrogance and the gall, to expect to win the NC every year. I have to be honest, I hope we're never so successful that we develop that mindset. It's miserable and embarrassing.
I once had an Alabama fan dress me down, saying essentially, that as an LSU fan, I should be ecstatic with the two NC's that Saban and Miles gave us for the rest of my life, that we should understand that we were very lucky to have those experiences, because Alabama is team who SHOULD be winning it every year. I just remember thinking to myself what a sad pathetic person she was.
I'm not saying that winning championships shouldn't be the goal, but if you can't enjoy the competition, the ups and downs, the drama, then you've lost site of the whole point of sports. It's in the playing. Do we remember the games where we blew people out as much as the bluegrass miracle? Why follow college sports, if not for the fact that it's much more of an emotional roller coaster than professional teams.
I'm not saying that constructive criticism isn't fair game, but let's not become a victim of our success. And I hope we never have to hear our coach and his wife tell our fans that our expectations have become so high that we're impossible to please, like we saw at another team last year.

Id much rather a coach that starts of slow and come from behind than one who takes the lead early and gets outcoached and loses! As anyone would! But lets keep this in mind.... Good coaching is making the adjustments at half to come out victorious!

Sports is all bout winning. I could give a flying flip how we win football games as long as we win football games and LSU is winning more BCS/SEC football games more than ANY BCS/SEC program since 05. As is the thought process which says a HC must have at less 2 NCs to be seen as a great college coach.
Like Miles or not, but his results for the last 9+ yrs place him in the great level for his period at LSU. For a decade the LSU overall results place us in a Top 3-5 program level. Anyone claiming that not great when we play in the SECW is just silly and suffering from college football mental retardation.

So by your logic then Chizik at Auburn or say Carr at Michigan would be great coaches since they each won a NC. I realize Miles has put together a string of winning seasons but some would argue that to rise to the elite/great status, you need to win a second title to dispel the thought that it was a fluke the first time. Chizik sure as hell wouldn't have won it without Cam the year Auburn made their run.

Winning a NC is much harder now than when Bryant, Paterno, Switzer, Bowden and Osborne won multiple titles. College football is more competitive than ever and the quality of coaching in the major conferences, especially the SEC is higher than in the prior eras. Saban benefited in his years at LSU in not having to play Spurrier in his prime, and he never had to play Meyer in his prime either at Florida. When Saban was at LSU he only had one really strong coach to compete against regularly, Tuberville. He still only managed one NC title and two SEC championships, all with a little help.
On the other hand, Miles has been coaching in the most competitive era in college football, and especially in the SEC, and has had to coach regularly against (and mostly held his own against) some the of top coaches in college football history who are coaching teams on a par with the talent that LSU has. Hard to really argue with his success and his place at the top of LSU's coaching history and among the best in the SEC's history.
He isn't perfect, and I have nearly pulled my hair out on multiple occasions, but the bottom line is he has had more success than any coach in LSU history. And I really can't complain very much about that.

Dang I don't think I ever looked at the whole schedule and scores like this? Looks like my Play Station schedule at the end 2011 was badass!! Not complaining at all but a bunch of those games didn't start well and to the point of the thread all ended in a butt kicking.

Wear down is a game thing not play to play and once our backs start breaking the the line of scrimmage in loaded boxes there is no help for the defenses !
