I've done it a few different times with two GFs. About 1/3 of the time, it was with a girl we knew. Generally, this is how it went down:

Your gf meets a chick while yall are getting drinks at a bar
She chats up chick for a while and you walk away and do whatever
By them some shots or drinks or whatever and touch base every now and then
Sit down with them and hang out
Tell gf to get up and go do whatever while you talk to the chick

*if she's with friends, try and get her to go to another bar

You, gf, and chick finish out the night at the bar and ask if she wants to come chill afterwards
