Loud Sirens in St.Gabriel/Geismar Area

Anybody here loud sirens (think like wooooooooooh...wooohhhhhhhh), like not a fire truck alarm or police siren...

Lasted for about a minute or so?

Just heard that as well. Turned on the tv and looking on the internet to see if there is any news, but can't find anything so far.

Probably Shell or BASF testing their alarm. Would be my guess.

If it's in Iberville parish, I believe it's a routine emergency alert system check...1st Monday of the month.

Went off here in Brandon, MS not too long ago. Emergency siren test......or we're all going to die.

It's a test. I hear it all the time around noon. I live in the area too.

As already stated, it was most likely Parish warning sirens, sound every Monday at noon.

BASF sounds the sirens at noon on Wednesday now, so we don't interfere with the Parish sirens.
