Why are most leagues PPR?

It seems like an unimportant stat. If you catch passes but don't get any yards, you aren't valuable.

By the same PPR logic, the leagues should also be points per completion for the QB's, but I never hear about anyone doing that in a league.

People started PPR because QBs and RBs were dominating the leagues. PPR creates parity among the positons by giving WRs more value.

As it is, QBs dominate the top 10 fantasy scorers. 7 out the top 10 scorers were QBs last season. They dont need points per completions.

The 3 remaining top 10 players were RBs.

Do you know how many passes were caught were no or negative yards were gained? A 1 yd catch for a first down is valuable. You cannot determine different values for every little play in the game. In the broad scheme of things it's a good scoring method.

PPR is a product of a more pass happy league that has evolved. I do not think PPR is a terrible concept... A screen pass that gains 0 yards should not be rewarded. It is stupid.

Call me old school, but running backs put teams on there shoulders and win championships. (Other than defense) So they should be the biggest fantasy producers. QBs are up there now, but at least they only get points for the yards they gain.

More fun and I think it is more reliable week to week. Touchdown dependent leagues are more random. Is it fair for Tolbert to jog his fat self in for a 1 yard run and get 6 points?

A lot more fun and makes the league a lot more competitive.

PPR is the only way to go.
