Ah, I should have simplified it for you:

No one wants to draw Liverpool out of pot 3.

I figured most people would understand that statement, you've proven me wrong in that regard!

yeah, I thought that was a given... just like Roma out of pot 4

I think of it less us having champions league depth as us having a true champions league back four. The difference in quality from starters to backups is not much at all. The problem is that's cause we don't have a super strong backline to begin with. And as I said, part of it is the system with our fullbacks caught up field way too much and no true DM to step in and break up play in those situations

The good news is that all of those 5 CBs have CL experience... They may not be the best , but are far from the worst... They will also have a little time to click before those matches..

yeah, it's weird. that said, no one wanted to play dortmund. or city. they may not live up to the hype, but you certainly would rather go up against a less talented team.

I'm not trying to demean Liverpool. Dortmund was running the Bundesliga their first year in the champions league but they couldn't keep up.

Yeah, team CL experience can't be underrated. Teams seem to need a couple of CL seasons with a good part of their rosters in place to adjust to playing slightly different tactics than what brings them success in their domestic leagues.

Aside from just getting favorable draws, which is, ask any Napoli fan, by far the most important factor, being flexible in tactics goes a lot further in CL than simply having a lot of young starlets.

I worry that Roma will have that problem this season even with a decent draw. In fact, I think Roma has a fighting chance against equal or slightly better teams that go at them full on but am concerned about Greek and Turkish etc clubs that defend as a group, frustrate and counter.

I'd like to see us draw a top team. We might not be back in CL next season so I'd like to see the Anfield atmosphere in a LFC vs Bayern game even though they would assault our back 4.

If we draw Barcelona and Suarez scores at Anfield I will never watch soccer again!

At the same time, if he were to bite Gerrard at Anfield it would be one of the greatest TV ratings boons in CL history.

I'm pretty sure I would spontaneously combust if that happened.

This is how I see our draw going, just cause:

Option 1 - Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool, Roma

Option 2 - Barcelona, Juventus, Liverpool, Monaco

Barcelona is not allowed to have a tough draw. You could have Barca and Pool, but the rest would be different.

Arsenal is drawing Monaco.

Do you even soccer bro? Pep's idea of assault is 900 square passes around the midfield line.

When is this fricking thing going to start???

I'm sick of looking at perfectly tailored suits and perfectly tied ties.

Thank God we're on the opposite side of the bracket at barca. They can't knock us out unless we're in the final
