It's the only way I do it. I prefer to wait until a movie has been out a few weeks, and I go to the either the earliest or latest showing.
I hate crowds at the theater. I have a pretty good success rate of having less than 5 people in the theater and the last two times I've been the early person in there. It's great.

On rare occasions I will.

Work out of town, go by myself all the time. Love it when I am the only in the theatre.

Me too. Nothing weird with it.
Not many people want to see the movies I want to see them, sit where I want to and go at the time I want to go. So I'm OK with it.

Depending on the movie, I sometimes prefer to go alone.

Perfectly fine. Anyone who can't/won't do it is insecure.

There are actually 2 camps in the "debate?" What kind of douche bag looks down on someone who goes to the movies by themselves? Sounds like some nonsensical judgment by some insecure frickhead.

I don't go to movies. I prefer not to support the liberal Hollywood elite.
Is that weird?
Weird? No.
Moronic? Probably.

Ditto.
I rather enjoyed it during my college/single years, but I haven't done it in a few years.

all the truly weird stuff that is now acceptable and you are wondering about this?

I did it last week. Entire IMAX 3D theater with only like 4 or 5 other people there seeing GOTG was the tits. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconPimp.gif)

I have to travel a lot in my job. If I can't get a client out to dinner, I'll find a dine-in theater and let the company pay or my movie and eats.
