Ask the rest of the country and they'll tell you that LSU is actually great at shutting down running and dual threat QBs.

Wow, it looked like having an experienced QB was their only advantage, and now they're willingly giving that up..

Yes, but he literally has zero snaps as a D1 QB in a D1 college football game and is taking that first snap against LSU.

I mean, it's not a bad tactic. With a mobile QB in the game, it forces the DL and LB to have to hesitate for just a sec.....which could be just enough time for Gordon/Clement to gain yds.......it kinda/sorta forces the defense to be more reactive vs. proactive.......

i don't see it really changing the outcome of the game (LSU winning), of course not, but that's the logic that Wisconsin is following going down this rabbit hole.....!!!!

The decision to go with McEnvoy wasn't about which QB is better, Wisconsin is trying to develop a game plan to slow down/prevent LSU downhill pass rush.........and to give Gordon & Clement the best chance at success running the ball......

This has nothing to do with choosing the "best" QB for the job no more than it does "we have to slow down LSU and give our backs a chance"........

This plus I can't help but think they are not happy with the progression at the WR position. I feel as if they know we will stack the box and go 1 on 1 with the wideouts so why not to with the more mobile QB.

Badgers better hope McEnvoy pulls a Cam Newton and not a Darron Thomas or Johnny Manziel. Seems likely

I agree, they have to be thinking they can't pass against us anyway so why not have a guy that can run. That said we will surely have 9 in the box now.

Most guys having their debut against us have suffered big time. I will be shocked if this ends well for this guy.

I think this BS to mess with Chief....

of course it is. it's the pre-game dance. LSU has faced both type of qb's (that they have) and Chavis will be ready for either.
