5th pick in a 12 team ppr league. Who ya got?
Posted on 8/22/14 at 12:23 pm to Large Farva
Forte if he falls to 5.
Posted on 8/22/14 at 12:24 pm to Large Farva
why wouldnt you pick Forte
Posted on 8/22/14 at 12:24 pm to lsuhunt555
Yeah, I like both but I doubt Forte falls to 5 in a PPR league. If he does, snatch him up.

Well 4th pick is convinced Arian is going to have a monster year so he is taking him.
I also just have a feeling Lacy will have a monster year.

Almost everyone says Forte, but I went Lacy in a 0.5 ppr and have the same choice again from the 4 spot coming up next week.
I expect Lacey's YPC to increase as well as his receptions. I can see him leading the league in TD's as I think the Packers are going to go off this year. Lacy does have some injury concerns from college and the concussion on the cheap shot last year. People are also scared he may pull Trent Richardson, but he has much beter vision than Trent and GB's o-line is legit.
Forte catches a lot of passes and outplayed Lacy last year. Trestman's offense gives Forte a very high floor. He has no catastrophic injuries and has been healthy the past couple of years. The Chicago line has looked like shite run blocking in the pre-season and I dont fully trust them, but Kromer should have them in shape by start of the year.
I think for a full PPR you have to go Forte, but Lacy is so very tempting.

Don't worry. You are in a good spot there. Can't go wrong with either, but I'd go Forte

I am still so torn.

If you pass on Forte and he has another year like last year, then you will kick yourself. He has finished near the top of PPR RBs every in all of his 6 years in the league. He plays in an offense perfectly suited for him. He caught 74 passes last season, and this year he gets a healthy Cutler back, a more seasoned Alshon, Santonio Holmes, etc. All the data says it's the right choice. If he fails for some reason, you can still sleep at night knowing you made the right choice.
Im sure Lacy will do fine. But he hasn't established a track record yet. We haven't seen much of him with Rodgers. And a lot of his points came on TDs, which we really can't predict year to year. Again, I like Lacy, but if one of the proven guys are there, I just have to lean that way and play it safe.

I watched every one of his games last year...all of this is true. To add, lacy breaks tackles and has excellent vision and despite his size has pretty good burst through the line...when Rodgers and lacy were in together, lacy was unstoppable. With two backup bums and injuries, lacy still beasted. If they're inside the 5, lacy is getting the ball...with Rodgers back, they'll be inside the 5
also, lacy was targeted for more receptions when Rodgers was in...he'll check it down and lacy will catch it.
If people watched lacy last year, they should know he's in for a big year.

Yeah, but Forte is the smarter bet. Forte is a virtual lock to be an RB1 in any format or reasonable league size. You can say the same about Shady, All Day, and Charles.
Lacy should be great, but why take that slight risk?

I don't feel like I am,
like I said this dude got a bad hand last year and still was a monster
GB wanted RB by committee
no Rodgers - stacked boxes and playing from behind
early season concussion
late season ankle (not very serious one)
a HC who kind of sucks at situational playcalling (throw throw throw)
all that, and he still just crushed it...you could see a shift in McCarthy's playcalling as he kept performing well.
this year, Rodgers is back (no stacked boxes, playing with leads), lacy has more experience, more offseason work, is the undisputed bell cow, what's not to like?
is forte not a risk. he has an injury history, and the bears have a history of throwing on the goalline. Also, the bears have a porous defense. Look at how teams ran the ball on them. Yeah, trestman offense is really impressive, but it's possible the bears are going to be throwing a lot
I'd rather have the guy who gets more carries than more receptions...I'm a Tulane guy and I wouldn't take forte until Peterson, McCoy, lacy, and Charles are off the board
we're talking about the difference between the 4th best RB and the 5th...is it that crazy?

Wat
He has played 94% of possible games over 6 seasons. Find me a RB with more durability.
Lacy is the one with a lengthy injury history. Hasn't played a full season dating back to HS.

I can't even

You can't even, well I've seen it time and time again to my detriment and benefit
It's better without mike tice, but they spell him on the goaline and they throw on the goaline
We're talking about 2 really good players here
No injury history? Look at how awesome his 2012 season was with Michael bush vulturing the limited goaline opportunities and forte nursing an ankle sprain

You are talking about Forte under a different regime. There is no michael bush anymore, either.
7 of Forte's 9 rushing TDs came from inside the 5 last season.
And if they are throwing on the goaline, Forte could be catching it? He caught 2 of his 3 TDs from 4 yards out.

Mccoy, Forte, and JC will all be catching screens in the red zone. If Indy was smart, they would use TR that way like Bama did.
Posted on 8/22/14 at 2:29 pm to abellsujr
Im taking Forte 2nd overall, 12 team, no ppr.
Posted on 8/22/14 at 2:31 pm to Coach Guidry
I would go Mccoy 1, JC 2, but Forte is not a bad choice at 3, IMO.
