At least now that I can shop for them online, I don't have to make a decision with dilated eyes in the waiting room.
It definitely helps to know what shape/size works on your face, but Zenni does let you upload a photo of yourself and try on frames virtually, which is pretty cool. They may all be doing that now.
One thing I would stay away from at Eyebuydirect is their new computer lenses. They sent me an email about it, and when I looked into it, they filter out blue light and are 1.57 index, which means they're some polycarbonate hybrid, with no doubt a high ABBE, not CR-39. Basically, they're everything I do NOT want in computer lenses. Fercrissakes, I calibrate my monitor with a meter for accurate color, and I don't want or need blue filtered. The last time I ordered was Dec 2013, but hopefully normal CR-39 with AR is still available. Those lenses have been great.

Everyone needs vision help eventually.
I was only seven when I started wearing glasses.

You can get prescription sunglasses for when you drive during the day or just in general. I got some persols from frames direct that worked out nice.

Maui Jim prescription lens rock.
I have some Ray-Ban Wayfarers, but for driving and running, the Maui's are better for light weight and contrast.

So, let me get this straight. You are an advocate for letting the blind operate motor vehicles? Please GTFO with that BS.
That being said, the "eye exam" administered by the DMV is a giant steaming pile of bull. I once tried to pass without glasses. I misread all of the numbers on the screen as letters. The girl administering the test asked "are you sure about that?", so I squinted and realized they were actually numbers. I read them again and she passed me without further questioning.

I've been wearing glasses since age 7, you insensitive prick! What I wouldn't give to know what it would feel like to be able not to worry about glasses or need them.

Sorry for your family's weak eyes.

That's sort of an ode to Something About Mary. When he's carrying the piano and that dick in the wheelchair cusses him out gets me every time.
But I have been wearing glasses since about 7. I apparently have such a bad astigmatism that LASIK is not an option.....yet they say.
