You used to be funny. Not sure what happened.

Just wish I could get an answer.

Bringing your own beer is fine. I've never said anything that would remotely imply that.

I think you can have a food or drink hobby, or be an enthusiast, or advocate, without being snobby about it. When there is pretentiousness about it, or a sense of superiority because of it, that's when it becomes snobbery, and that should have a negative stigma attached
I'm confused. Your OP said you're as snobby as they come in reference to beer, but you don't seem to be that way about food.
.. So why is it that being that way about food "should" have a negative stigma.
FWIW, I'm not rude to people about what they choose either. Just unclear on your stance.

Refusing Bud Light at a party is definitely snobby
I don't see how saying "Oh, no thank you" because you dislike something is snobby.
If a woman who only drinks cranberry and vodka says no to a beer, no one bats an eye.
If someone who doesn't drink soft drinks says no to a coke, no one gives them shite.
If someone comes over and serves themselves everything I've made except one item because they don't eat that, I don't think they're snobby.
Why are all of those okay, but saying no thanks when someone offers you a beer you don't like isn't?

You couldn't have just read the rest of the thread?

Is it fair say that beer snobs get a different reaction than food snobs or wine snobs?
Is it because beer for the longest time was viewed as an "everyman" sort of drink and was dominated by pale lagers?

Yep.

I see this thread has been lunch boxed, but I will answer OP anyway...
I don't consider myself a snob, but I do enjoy the finer things. I live in a place with great local restaurants (a good bit of people say the best in the south) and I really enjoy supporting them. I can't remember the last time I ate at a chain. They don't even come up as suggestions between my group of friends.
Alcohol wise, same deal. I love craft beer and good liquor. However, I have absolutely no problem drinking light beer when I want to get shitty, especially when it's late night at a bar.
I don't look down on anyone buying lower quality stuff. That's their deal. The premium is far and away worth my money, though.

Why do I get blamed for people admitting to be snobs, me agreeing with them, then them asking me why they are snobs?
No one seems to have a good answer to that one.
ETA: And you don't sound like a snob at all.

Why does every thread you participate in turn into a shitshow. That's the fricking question you need to be asking yourself.

That might be a good assessment.
When I was working at the bar, we'd get older folks who weren't at all into craft beer who just stumbled upon the place. And some of them were 100% hellbent on their old faithful (Coors, Bud, etc.)
It wasn't at all out of the ordinary to see an older man come in and look at the tap wall and say, "I don't know what all this fairy shite is, but I just want a real beer" (or something to that effect).
I totally understand why a non-craft drinker would feel defensive against someone being snobby, because it makes you feel inferior even though you're not. But, man.. Some of these people would walk in and start getting red-faced and angry because they just wanted "A REAL BEER, NOT THIS OTHER shite"
Reminds me of the time I took my grandfather to eat Chinese food.

It's like a pointed out: snobbery vs. snobbery with a negative connotation.
I am a snob about a LOT of shite. Not just food and drink. Where I buy my clothing, the brand of skincare and haircare I use, technology products, the freaking food I buy my DOG..
When I admit I'm a snob, I mean that I am particular about these things.
I am NOT, and I assume these people also, a snob in the sense that I tell people their choices are shite or make them feel badly.

I wonder what would be considered a fake beer.

I didn't say there was anything negative about it, and my comment was immediately questioned.
I do get what you're saying though.

Food, about as snobby as snobby can get.
Alcohol, not close to same level. My favorite beer is cold and free.
