Don Lemon (CNN) doesn't know different between Semi-Auto and Auto Weapons

VIDEO
Notice Van Jones nodding along to everything Lemon is saying. It's unbelievable how journalists, even some that are supposed to be respected, can be so ignorant on basic information.
And this is on top of what happened a few days ago in Ferguson
quote:
Sensing that the CNN host wasn’t fully informed on the issue, Ferguson then asked Lemon for his definition of an “automatic weapon.”
“For me, an automatic weapon is anything that you can shoot off a number of rounds very quickly. I was able to buy an AR-15 in 20 minutes,” Lemon said.
That’s when Ferguson pounced.
“With all due respect, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” the radio host shot back. “An automatic weapon is when you pull the trigger one time and it continually shoots off one after another, after another.”
But Lemon refused to back down, claiming that he can do exactly that with the AR-15 that he purchased in Colorado and accusing Ferguson of “getting into semantics.” It should be noted that fully automatic firearms are highly regulated in the United States and very hard to acquire.

I don't really consider Don Lemmon and the other talking heads on cable news "journalists". More like ignorant talking point sluts

He must come from the same stock as some of our posters on here. Regardless of how many times they are explained the difference they just don't understand...

you'd think someone from North baton rouge would have a higher knowledge of guns.

Hard to acquire , but easy to convert from semi to fully automatic. Cut the guy some slack. Barely matters anyhow.

Please tell us how easy...

Just. Stop.

Why? He's putting out erroneous information on a national news show. You don't see a problem with that?

@ you.

That's pretty bad, but the rubber bullets thing was worse.
CNN should know the difference between semi-auto and auto if they are going to run with the agenda that they have pushed at times.

absolutely. just pull the trigger super fast and you have an automatic.
right?
Posted on 8/21/14 at 9:31 am to sugar71
When's the last time a converted, full-auto was used in a crime? The LA bank robbery?
Posted on 8/21/14 at 9:33 am to jamboybarry
Not 'journalists'.
Propagandists.
Propagandists.

Complete ignorance. It's not easy - AT ALL - even if you have a select fire trigger group - you would also need a bolt, bolt carrier, AND mill the lower receiver to accept the trigger group.

Cut the guy some slack.
The guy on the program tried to educate him, but he remains willfully ignorant (or worse) - no slack warranted.

Barely matters anyhow.
Then it's okay if we all go out and get fully automatic weapons?
(No, you really just want to take semis, don't you? THAT'S why you say it "barely matters". If it "barely matters" why is there this multimillion dollar regulatory and enforcement scheme to keep the number of legal machineguns in private hands frozen at 1986 levels?)

No offense you your first statement would indicate you're a victim of said ignorance. Why do you believe it's "easy to convert"? If I were you,I'd be angry I'd been duped.

magazine capacity is obviously an issue for these nuts
so why don't we all compromise and just make fully automatic weapons as accessible as any other firearm.
Think of all the wasted ammo that otherwise would've been carefully trained elsewhere
we can save lives!

buh buh but I thought there was no such thing as an "automatic weapon". At least I've seen it said here numerous times.
This is like the "tea party". When a liberal mentions the tea party, we're told there is no tea party. But then cons freely speak of the tea party.
Same with an automatic weapon. If a liberal mentions it, there is no such thing.

I actually used to work with Don Lemon back in my TV news days.
I wasn't blown away by his intelligence or his general knowledge of how the world works. He is good on camera, though. That's really all you need these days.
