I can't help you on the hotels. For food, what do you like and what do you want to spend?

I like most anything, done well. I'm not worried about price, but do like value. Would like to find a place I could have a good cocktail and/or find good beer on draft.

Noticing that..looks like the nicest hotels in the area are in West Monroe.

Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Monroe. Eat at Cotton or Nonna in Monroe.

Depends on your definition of "good beer"...

Best bet will be Pickle Barrel, but the bar at Cotton will have some Great Raft stuff on tap and a decent bottle selection. The make a fine cocktail as well. I would stay in WM and hop off at Stella street exit to access wherever you want to eat. Cotton, Casios, Mohawk, Nonna, Warehouse and a few more will be a relatively short trip (5-10 minutes). Also Enoch's is right there in the mix. Neat bar with pretty slamming bar food. Not a whole lot in the way of beer selection though..

I wouldn't consume too many beers on the East side and drive back to the West side, fwiw. The boot legged thugs are aching to make an example out of folks.

Stay by the mall at a Marriott. Eat at Cottons or Mohawk.

In general, Cotton and Nonna are the two places to eat.
My last two meals at Cotton have been extremely disappointing, though.

Care to go in more detail? I have heard a few people say this.

Mohawk seafood tavern on Louisville ave is my fav place. Food is dynamite old school seafood. Looks of it wont make your panties wet, but the servers dont wear taxi cab driver hats either.
