Some great stuff about Alexander in the first half of the article. Then he speaks on Fournette.
That is some high arse praise from one of the all time SEC greats. He sees it, Faulk sees it, most of us see it. Well, we will see it in a couple weeks.

But as all-time LSU rushing leader Kevin Faulk told me back in February, seconded on Tuesday by Alexander, who still outright holds seven school rushing records and who finished fifth in the 1978 Heisman voting, Fournette has the ability to blow away their numbers.
quote:
"The first time I watched some of Leonard's high school highlights on YouTube," Alexander said, "I thought he was a man among boys, like someone needed to check his I.D. for his birth date.
"I was considered a big back with straight ahead speed, but he's bigger (6-foot-1, 224) than I was (6-1, 214) when I was a college senior. He looks like he should be in the NFL.
"I had to really work at running. With Leonard, it looks natural. Carrying the ball for him is like jogging. He's got a lot of God-given ability. He's very elusive, he's got great hands, he's got a pair of wheels on him and he has quick feet. When he's in a pile, everybody relaxes and he keeps his feet moving."
quote:
"Cecil Collins, Dalton and Kevin were all special backs," Alexander said. "But this kid (Fournette) seems like all of them rolled into one. From everything I read and hear about him from interviews, he seems like a good kid. I'm really excited about watching him play this year."

This place is going to fricking implode when he rushes for less than 100 yards against Wisconsin.

What are you going to do when he rushes for over 130 yards on less than 13 carries?

Fournette could be better than Adrian Peterson. He could be better than Bo Jackson. He could be better than Herschel Walker.
He could be a bigger bust than Russell Shepard.
He could be any number of things and people need to just chill the frick out and let the kid play. Leonard Fournette is going to be as good as Leonard Fournette. That is all that matters.

My 3 year old "could" be better than Charles Alexander, but I guess we will not know until my son actually plays in a game.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets 10 carries. Hope he makes the best of them.

Jizz my pants? That would be fantastic and it isn't outside the realm of possibility.
But tempering expectations = Suspect now, apparently. I agree LF is going to be a motherfricking beast, I just don't think pumping him up as the greatest RB in our history without having taken 1 snap can't lead to anything good.

if he is anywhere as good as the hype, we're in for an amazing ride....

Charles Alexander was a finished product, Fournette is potential currently, Alexander is the most talented Running back I've ever seen at LSU, I'd put Cecil Collins, & Harvey Williams, before his knee surgery, as the next 2.

If he has a debut better than Cecil the Diesel I will crown him the GOAT. The Diesel for that short period was the most impressive back I ever saw at LSU. Too bad he was fricking nuts.

+100000000000
if this happens, we are talking the heir to the mantle passed on from Van Buren, Taylor, Cannon, Stovall, Casanova, Alexander, Faulk, et.al.......
