It would be a disappointment if we lost more than 3. I'm expecting 2.

In this century we have had two 5 loss seasons and two 4 loss seasons with ten years of 3 losses or better. Incredible when you think about.

This year I see four very easy wins(3 cupcakes plus UK).Two toss ups or underdog games(AL schools). If they play well these could be wins.

Of the remaining six games, LSU has the talent margin over 4 (UW, MSU, OM, and Pigs. LSU is always Bears and Pigs big game and we rarely respond well although we win most of them and State might have their best team. I think these four are the key to the year.

At Gators and Aggies, could be easy could be tough, It is difficult for me to get a handle on those two.

It is easy to see 4 losses here, but I think my threshold is 3. Ask me in mid October and it could be 0 to 6 losses.

We have 4 sure wins. That means with Ole Miss, Moo St, Ark, A&M, Ala, Fla, Aub, Wisc we have to split to be 8 - 4. That would be bad year... but that's a tough, tough run of games, no matter how they fall on the schedule. Our defense will be improved over last year and our O will be closer to 2012 so we should hit 9 -3 this year... 8 - 4 would be very disappointing because it would mean we were 500 against real teams... 9 - 3 is the baseline.

I can tolerate any number of loses as long as the game is not given away.

Looking at the schedule there's six games (Wisconsin, MSU, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss and bama) that we could potentially lose. That doesn’t even take into consideration Arkansas or Texas A&M being better than expected.

I'm in, win or lose, as long as we don't play scared or stupid.

Anything more than 3 losses is cause for concern. 4 loss seasons are meaningless and usually end in a shitty bowl destination.

9-3 is about what I am expecting.

Anything better than that, and Les Miles should be a CoY candidate.

If Miles goes 10-2, people will bitch about who he lost to. IMO, the floor is 9-3. Outside of the horror of 2008's pick 6 fest and defensive frickery, we have never went lower than 9-3 in any year of Miles' tenure. We have at least a top 15 preseason defense (should be top 10 at the end of the year). We have a loaded offensive line and backfield. Ridiculous talent at WR, and the best QB talent and coaching we've had since 2006.

11-1 would be overachieving

10-2 is where I have us

9-3 is the floor

8-4 would be a huge disappointment

My thoughts exactly.

I can see 11-1 with this team's talent, but I may be looking through the blindfolds.

We'll win a game we prob shouldn't and then we will turn around and lose one or two we shouldn't.
Same song.
Different year.

I say 9-3
Another crap bowl, no Atlanta seccg.

Realistically I think you have to look at 8 - 4, 9 - 3 is probably the best case scenario with a win over Wisconsin and staying healthy. Losses would be Bama, Auburn and probably 2 losses between Ole Miss, Wisconsin or Arkansas. Yes I said it, I think Arkansas (right after Bama and before Texas A&M) sets up as a potential trap game for LSU. Seems like under Miles there is at least one game where LSU doesn't show up and I think Arkansas has that potential this year.

Anytime we lose more than 3 games is a time I can't deal with.

What's funny is that if we do lose 4 games this year, everyone who is saying that they expect it right now will be bitching at the end of the year.
Funny is one word for it. Obnoxious is another. Pathetic, stupid and juvenile are others. All are correct, apt, and warranted.

This.

8-4 would be a disappointment but it can happen considering how young we are on offense.

I would be pissed with 5 losses.

With the talent we recruit every year I think we should always have 9 to 10 regular season wins each year. I see a lot of posters say that "next year" is our year and that seems to happen almost every year. If a Nick Saban (yes, I said it) can go 11-1 or better every regular season, then so should we. We have a very good coaching staff, outstanding athletes and should be in the NC mix every year just as Alabama has been for the past five years. Giving up 44 points to Georgia was awful, losing to Ole Miss was just unbelievable and a near loss to Arkansas last season was almost unthinkable after they got obliterated by both South Carolina and Alabama. I'm ready to see a disciplined team that executes week in and week out. If we lose a couple, I hope it's by small margins and not because we gave up a ton of points or lost the line of scrimmage battle (Alabama game last season). I think Miles is a great guy but I'm getting a little frustrated with the "next year is our year" talk while our former coach is in it seemingly every year for the last several. While I am concerned about our QB situation and how either Jennings or Harris will perform against the better defenses, I am hopeful that we have other pieces in place to overcome any possible deficits in that area for the regular season as we did in 2011.
