I dont under stand this. You have to personally know someone to be saddened by their death?

Im sure saints fans would be sad tomorrow if drew brees ended it all tomorrow.

Soldiers die butsince you didnt know them why would anyonr give two frickx?

if going to try to be edgy cool kid at least use a joke Instead of the played out who cares about celebrity death cliche.its not edgy or original....fwiw a good death joke can keep us hanging on after this terrible noose

Andit isnt celebrity worship when some people are upset. While I was shocked williams died I wasn't as upset as my gf was but I understood why it bothered her.

I have 2radio shows I have listened to daily for 10 years. Ron bennington and anthony cumia are in my life for 6 hours a day while im at work.they have made me laugh and have thought of some brilliant radio...When they pass I will genuinely be saddened for am extended period of time because a part of my day is missing, even though I never met them I have a connection to them through laughter and laughter is fricking awesome. So why wouldn't I be sad when laughter dies? Laughing is my fav thing to do

Today, while avoiding making "I don't give a shite if he died" comments, I have given my honest opinion of him as a comedian. Even that seems to be too much for some people.

I am with you. I never really was a fan...and even stated as much while he was still living. He did great work in some of his movies; there is no denying that. However, I absolutely could not stand to watch him give interviews on shows like Letterman or Leno. He was always going 100 miles a minute like he was coked up...or just trying tooooo hard to be funny. I would have to turn the channel because it was just unwatchable.

This was part of the statement his daughter Zelda gave

quote:

To those he touched who are sending kind words, know that one of his favorite things in the world was to make you all laugh. As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of him is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after youve had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh too

you obviously know nothing about mental illness. It makes irrational decisions seem rational.

Get off your high horse. I think it's more selfish to call someone who killed themselves selfish. "Omg he killed himself? And he didn't even think about me"

In an indirect way, yes you did (more in a sense you used in a hyperbole). Why can't we remember him for what he meant to us, the laughs he brought us when we were kids, the movies that we will always remember. That is what the kind of nostalgia RW brings.

Pretty selfish to call someone selfish because they called someone selfish

How is that selfish. I'm criticizing someone for judging a dead person. Nothing selfish about that

Oh it's two shows -- you made it sound like they were a team doing a 6 hour show everyday

So you're saying it's not selfish to call someone selfish because they called someone selfish?

Personally I think it's selfish to say it's not selfish to call someone selfish because they called someone selfish.

Nostalgia isn't just remembering someone or something. It's wanting to relive it as well and to be honest if you want to relive being a child and watching Hook that's kinda weird.

So you're saying nostalgia is creepy and evil?

I'm sorry your childhood sucked.

You don't understand nostalgia. It's not wanting to be a certain age.

Anytime you and friends tell a story from a dru k night out or you talk abot an lsu game that was in past areyou wanting to be there again or just wanting to share the fun with your friends again.

I love watching muppet babies wth my daugter as jt reminds me of how much fun I had with that show as a kid and now can pass that on.

Yeah it's wanting to experience something from your past. Which in my example was being the age of 6.
