I see.

Big Ben throwing 585 times was far and away a career high. Ideally they want to throw it about 100x's less than that. Roughly you're looking at 50-60 less completions

"Calvin Johnson (knee, finger) has made "jaw-dropping plays essentially every day" at camp.
Advice: Although the Lions are managing Johnson's reps in practice and held him out of the preseason opener, he's clearly over last year's nagging injuries. He's looked "impressive" while dominating defensive backs like he always does. Still just 28, there's no reason to think Johnson is going to regress this season. He's a tremendous bet to finish as a top-three wideout for the fourth straight season."

I like Brown too. Kinda splitting hairs with these guys. Let's factor in there are only 2 WRs in history that have caught 110 balls in back to back years. So expecting a duplicate year like that may not be reality. Even with a slight tail off, say he catches 95 balls, he'll be a top 10 WR. With his size that is why I rank him a little lower than the other guys. It's hard for a guy like that to repeat. I would also guess they'd like to be more balanced then last year. Big Ben threw for a career high in attempts. They had trouble running the ball because their line was banged up

Exactly

He can still be good, just not top 10. He reached his ceiling last season. His arrow is pointing down in comparison to his 2013 production, while guys like Keenan Allen, Alshon, Patterson, Floyd are immense talents who will grow towards their ceiling. Then I can see guys like Welker reemerging into the top 10. Sneaky plays like Golden Tate or Eric decker could be top 10 guys

Meant to add Roddy and Fitz as guys who could slip back into the top 10 and no one would be surprised

Just my gut, Welker will disappoint. For the most part, he was taken out of the games the second half of the season by physical play at the line of scrimmage. He still caught balls, but he wasn't as effective as he was earlier in the season. He's 33. I see Emmanuel Sanders taking catches from him.

Amendola WILL get hurt, bc he is a woman. So I can see Julian Edelman catching 80-105 passes this year.

Another good one that might emerge if he can get in the endzone is Kendall Wright.

I tend to think Johnson is slightly over-rated in comparison to the others on the list. Not to mention he is starting to show wear and tear.

You don't draft Calvin as the #1 WR in the first round because you expect him to finish #1. You do it because it's highly unlikely he finishes outside the top 3. Paying for consistency and floor. Same went for AP for the last X amount of years.

And proof of this wear and tear? He's only missed 2 games in the last 4 years, and both of them were last year. One of which he probably could have played in, but the Lions were being cautious, as they should be.

Everyone said this last year about him and Thompkins. Look how that turned out...

If you're going to take a NE wr, I really don't see how Edelman isn't the guy.

well, they were both rookies, to be fair.

Antonio Brown caught 16 passes as a rookie.

...so? We're talking rookies years last year. They're not just going to be as unreliable as last year. They'll only get better.

Rookie WRs suck. They take the next step in year 2. Dobson was a 2nd rd pick for a reason. Thompkins was UDFA

Edelman caught passes bc no one was healthy and he was playing with unreliable rookies. Unless you are projecting Gronk and Amendola not to play and for Dobson to play like a rookie, then Edelman will see a lot of bench time on fantasy rosters this season.

1. DT88
2. C.Johnson
3. D.Bryant
4. Green
5. Marshal
6. Julio
7. Nelson

Nelson is gonna have a monster year and could finish top 5.

I think we all can agree the Brady loves the small receiver that runs crossing patterns and creates separation immediately off the line of scrimmage.

Walkers catches since joining Pat's in 2007:
112,111,123,86,122,118.

I think we could agree that Edelman fits that type of receiver more than Amendola.

Edelman's receptions last year 105.

You can bookmark. At least get the whole quote, though.

His production is predicated by injuries and guys getting better.
