Do you see cooks as a poor man's sanders?

I see their roles for heavy passing teams being similar. I see cooks as a more explosive receiver and I really don't see a risk in taking him later in the draft. I'd also rather have Tate over sanders who is projected in that same general area. What is your take on Cooks?

I see him getting a ton of work.
Would be willing to take him in the 7th, maybe 6th.

I'm looking for him to be my 4th or 5th receiver, but I can see him being my flex at some point.

I see him as a better, more explosive Lance Moore. Remember when Moore was healthy he was a double digit TD threat. But limited upside bc of spreading the ball around. WR3 in my mind. He would be soooooo valuable if he was a RB, but being WR caps his value unles he does best case scenario, which is possible. But I'm drafting him based on Lance Moore's best case scenario. WR3 w/upside.

The best thing about Cooks is that he has an insane amount of upside.

So no one is going to tell me which Sanders were talking about?

Emanuel I guess...I didn't realize he was on the level of having poor men comparisons made to him.

I think of it like this: E. Sanders is the 6th option I would want to have, including QB, if I had any Broncos players on my team. On the other hand, Cooks is the 3rd option I'd like to have from the Saints offense.
IMO:
Manning --- Brees
DT88 --- Graham
Ball --- Cooks
Thomas --- Colston
Welker --- Pick a RB
Sanders --- Stills

Meh.. In PPR I still like Pierre over Cooks. And I'm not sold on Cooks outperforming Colston this year either. But with his upside... I would be open to taking him in the 8th..
A poor man's Emmanuel freaking Sanders is a strange comparison though...

emmanuel sanders: The only 3rd wr you see going before most #2 guys and even some #1 guys like colston.
I have sanders ahead of welker for this season, but I can understand the way you are looking at it. Also, 4 of those broncos will be gone in the 1st 3 rounds so it's a bit unfair to compare them that way, but i still get it. I'm on the fence with cooks/colston. I think colston will bounce back and be more of a td threat this year, but i like cooks to possibly lead the team in receptions.

Colston is just one of those guys that always scares me on the injury front. That's part of the reason I'm willing to put Cooks ahead of him. I agree that Colston is more of a TD threat in the red zone areas, but Cooks' big play ability could add up in the TD department as well. I just think he's going to be a huge part of what we do this season. Moreso than Sanders will be in what Denver does.

The broncos throw the ball around a ton. Sanders will probably out produce most #2 options in the league. I do see cooks having the potential to be a big part of the offense and be a steal in the draft this year....I'm hoping 9th round. The consensus here seems to be along what I was thinking.

id rather Cooks then Sanders.

I assumed he was talking about Ace Sanders
Not sure how you can compare Emmanuel Sanders and Brandin Cooks. Two completely different players

Also, Moore always had huge games when Sproles was dinged up.

I'd def take Cooks over Deion Sanders. He is retired, henceforth, 0 fantasy points.

Agreed. I think the comparison was between two players with bargain ADPs on teams that have explosive offenses. In that sense, they do have something in common.
Cooks impressed me in the first preseason game. I definitely see him filling a Sproles-type role.
But I don't really see the upside in targeting the second tier players on a team with a first tier offense. If you want to benefit from the prolific Broncos passing attack, then draft Manning, or Thomas (either one), or Welker. Why take the dregs? If you need a reason to watch the Saints on Sunday, draft Brees or Graham. No fantasy owner is pre-ordained to have to choose from the leftovers. I say, if you want a player from those teams that badly, make sure you get one.
