Why has ESPN more than any other network bought into the social justice movement

ESPN seems like they are the 5 star general when it comes to political correctness and the social justice warrior bullshite normally reserved for Tumblr.
I don't know if Disney is calling the shots or what but they seem to inject themselves into every issue and make it more than what it really is in an attempt to appear "tolerant" and "open minded" and "progressive".
This Max Kellerman thing is just the latest example
Whether it be trying to make Michael Sam into the next Jackie Robinson or all of the network tripping over themselves over Donald Sterling or even the Stephen A. Smith Ray Rice controversy... why does ESPN do this

Why do you ask questions you know the answer to?

What's wrong with being tolerant? How would you like them to treat the examples you referenced?

PC has replaced Christianity as the American religion, and they only want to show they are believers
No different than Time Magazine putting Jesus on the cover in 1950

Admitting it is the first step.

Because who watches ESPN for sports? We watch it to see what Kobe Bryant thinks about the trayvon Martin case or to see if some owner makes a racist remark so we can see them get blasted. Ain't nobody watches ESPN for sports. Tony Stewart just killed someone with a car which automatically gave 10 million rednecks a hard on.

Nobody likes to see people get killed. They might like to see them wrecking, but not killed.

I have quit watching them because of it. I watch live sporting events on that channel, and nothing else.

This.
after the Saints bountygate, all the incessant whining, and their anchors gushing over players like teenage girls, ESPN was permanently turned off at my house
