Bennett had a miserable rookie season. There is no denying that. But he also was lazy, played overweight, and had a lingering shoulder problem.

I didn't think he would ever be a solid role player when I watched him last season, but he looked great this summer. Granted it was summer league play, but he was noticeably skinnier, in better shape, and shot way better than last season.

It's way too early to write him off.

I'm not writing him off, but predicting him to average 18-12 after one of the worst rookie seasons ever is pretty absurd.

He was playing well before he got hurt at the end of last year too. He dealt with the worst situation imaginable entering the league, shoulder injury and diagnosed with asthma and sleep apnea, along with playing the same position as half the Cavs roster. The fact that he lost a bunch of weight and looked in shape this summer is a good sign.

He averaged 7/5 in February...that's how low the bar was. That was marked improvement and demonstrated he was "playing well". Think about that for a moment.

ANECTDOTES, ANECTDOTES EVERYWHERE. But seriously we need some games to be played so we can argue about production on the court instead of wondering about the future of Anthony Bennett (who I think will probably get somewhere to 12/6 this year, mostly because SOMEONE has to average points on the sixers)

If Noel/Embiid stay in Philly (I hope so) and Bennett stays at the 4, he'll be our sixth man anyway.

We'll be happy if he can turn into a 12/7 guy off the bench and contribute on defense.

Bennett NOT going to Philly per Woj. Minny trading 1st rounder from the Heat, Mbah a Moute, and Shved. Don't know if this has been brought up.

Unless Wiggins and Bennett both become All-Stars this year, I don't see anyway how you can say this was a bad trade for Clev.

It's bad because they could have kept them both and just added Love next year. If they were smart, and Love was willing to wait a year, it would have locked them up at least 3 titles in a row.

No they couldnt have. Without his Bird rights they couldnt sign him to the contract he would get in free agency.

From what I read, he wanted to be on his new team this year, so he could resign for the max 5 yr deal. Don't think he wanted to play in Minny for another year.

I dont know if he wanted to be on a new team this year or not. He just wasnt going to re-sign with them. So they are going to trade him.

Cavs wouldn't have the cap space to sign him next year. This was the only way they could get him
