Get a grip, bro. My point was that, after being a dick all year about him, I'm genuinely bummed that he's retiring. Not everyone has to blow Landon constantly. I honestly thought he'd play for a few more years.

To an extent, yes. I did, however, go through a long period of being bitter that he didn't go for it when he had that first good spell at Everton. I felt like he'd bitched out. I was very highly complementary of him during last year's Gold Cup, though. Since then, I've come to terms with it. The World Cup stuff, though, was just pure fun.

Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion of Dempsey and Bradley?

That's how I've always felt about him.

How did he bitch out? He was limited to being a right winger at Everton, and although he played well, he was 28 at the time of the first move. That's fairly old for a player to move abroad. Donovan didn't get the chance he needed Leverkusen, moved back to the MLS, went to Bayern, didn't stand out, and stood out on a mid-level PL team who were notoriously frugal about buying players.
