Please get something other than halo setting, everyone seems to get halo these days and they are unoriginal and ugly.
Also, go to a wholesaler if you want to save a ton of $. Pick out a great diamond , as it will be nearly 90% of the cost.
This is the one I got:
Wife said she didn't want a bunch of shite going on with hers. She just wanted it simple clear diamond with a real skinny band. I went with platinum band because they don't tarnish as easy and they are extremely durable.

Both should be set in their careers and know what they want... I don't see a problem with 14 months...

Do like I'll do.. Propose to her with her Grandmother's ring.

You are 31 and can't grasp the simple concept that different women have different taste?
If she is wanting to be engaged and is 32, trust me she will give hints as to what kind of ring she wants. That or she has told close friends or relatives. Asks them if you don't want to ask her.

My grandmother shot me down big time when I asked her for her ring. It belonged to my great grandmother and its an amazing ring. Would have loved to have gotten it. I never stood a chance.

Interesting. I wonder if it's just a biological thing.

What you think you should spend on it...spend less.

Cushion cut center with halo around it.
You're welcome

Your own grandmother?! That's cold bruh

Durable so she can wear it while she drives the combine, huh?

Looking at a cushion cut halo ring

Do you know if she likes halos?
Prefers solitaires?
Not every woman likes a solitaire setting, and not every woman likes a halo setting

Not really though
Some women don't like solitaires. What cut diamond? Some women like certain cuts. There is no "one setting fits all"
It's a ring she will hopefully wear the rest of her life. Make the effort to find out what she likes.

It's all personal preference.
I wanted to surprise my, then, fiancé so I picked something classic with the Princess cut.
Went to a wholesaler in Houston who helped me out. Walked into Tiffany's a couple months later looking for the wedding bands and they asked my wife if her engagement ring was one of theirs.

Since you are in Alabama, I'd go with Tom Neville and "The Source" in Montgomery. Whatever style you choose, you'll pay half of what the ring is worth. Trust me on this one, you will not be disappointed. I bought my wife's ring, valued at 15,000 and paid 8,000. Mr. Neville is a retired NFL player that absolutely loves the jewelry business. Check it out....your wife will love you.
