I haven't been to a game for a while and am looking to give them a great first time experience. Trying to go to a non conference game for their first one just so they can experience it. Any info would b great on what to do before, where to park possibly and whatever other good info anybody has. The girls are 10 and 8 and they are very excited. Thanks

Not really sure why you would want to do this. I would want to take them to an SEC game as their first. Also, the usual for kids, Mike the Tiger, Player's Walk, etc

Non conference mainly because of the cost of an sec game, tx for advice. Would love to go to an sec game if there's a way to get tickets for a decent price.

If possible, why not take a look at the Mississippi State game. It's toward the end of September (9/20), it will likely be a night game, the atmosphere should be excellent. The extra you'll have to spend for tix will be worth it.

If you're gonna be on the bleachers, get the chairback thingies you put on them.

I have 4 tickets available for new mexico state if you are interested in that game. I would recommend watching the drums warm up near the greek ampitheater before the game. It is one of the best things to see and it is rarely mentioned.

Go to ULM game so they can see how easy it is to go to a game. Great games are not appreciated by 8 year olds but the massiveness of the Stadium and pregame stuff will all be the same, but easier to see.

If it must be a non-conference, you'll want to take them to the New Mexico State game on September 27th... Hopefully by then it isn't still too damn hot.
Try to get tickets that won't be in the sun the whole time if you can.
Otherwise, Kentucky on 10/18 or Ole Miss on 10/25 would be reasonably priced, pretty good SEC home games. We're probably gonna win the Kentucky game... and should win vs Ole Miss.
But you'll have a better idea by the start of October of how good the team is.
Or.... you can take them to the best game experience on the face of the Earth...
A night game ( hopefully ) vs Bama on 11/8.
Things to do:
- Walk around and let people know it's their first game. Tailgaters love to make a positive influence on kids. Full red carpet experience.
- Show them around campus.
- Roll down the Indian mounds.
- See Mike... if you get there earlier in the day, he might still be out and about.
- See the band come down the hill before the game.
- Have fun. Congrats on being a great parent.

Stay the whole game and great seats will open up at halftime.

To get a better experience I would take them to an SEC game even if it is Miss St or Ky. This would give them a better experience than a game against a non-conf. patsy that can be like a glorified scrimage.
