What sort of things are you hearing freinds/family say about the upcoming season

I am generally very excited about this season coming up. We added Asik, which is really the only big time player we are going to have that will be different. But we will be seeing almost a completely new team. So, it's kinda like we made a bunch of trades this offseason and get to see how they all perform.
At one point last season, we basically had a starting 5 of players that would all be bench players on most other teams around the league. With everyone healthy, we will be seeing an almost fully transformed team. This is very exciting.
But this is also something that a lot of people don't realize. My uncle is the worst: "They need to get rid of Demps and Monty. They cannot win. Look at last year with all the players they brought in." I've got a few friends that speak similarly. It's really frustrating. And it's impossible to discuss it with them, because they barely know the players that we have and are not familiar with the NBA to be able to say understand, "Well we have Holiday and Evans and Anderson."
Anyway, what sort of vibe are you getting from others? It's very apparent that we here are much more educated than many others around the city.

Lol, nothing. I just have one or two others that I talk Pelicans with. We all feel the same.

NOLA.com commenters are pretty much why I stay on here

I have one friend who follows closely, and we are both excited about the new season. I have two other friends who I go to games with often, but they don't really follow the team much, so they don't have a huge opinion one way or the other. I take most other people's opinion with a grain of salt.

Those who follow the team, for the most part, are cautiously optimistic. Not fapping (first time in history I've ever typed that word but I'm trying to sound youthful and fit in . . . ) but they're expecting real improvement).
