You actually have a point here! The right has made the mistake of assuming that most people aren't stupid enough to believe things like this. The left really doesn't mind assuming people are stupid (I think its a plank of the Democrat party).
When confronted with information smart people dig in for more details. They ask if they are getting the whole story. They seek truth and see through bull shite.
Some people do not possess a healthy amount of skepticism. They are intellectually lazy and tend to grasp whatever info is easiest to understand.
"Republicans want people to make responsible decisons " becomes "Republicans hate the poor".

Ted Kennedy is long gone. Its been 45 years. The very fact that you still have to evoke this only speaks for itself.
The "War on Women" is about Republican policies that disproportionately and adversely affect women. It starts with the right to choose, then is about forced ultra sounds, lack of contraception etc. Stop forcing your religious beliefs down on the gullets of others.
