Do they still have the rod on the acceleration side you can push down to make your go-kart go faster than the others?

I don't think so, but I did not get to ride the drifting carts. I spent the whole time driving my 1/2" too short 8 year old around.

Baytowne Wharf is a good option, as is the outlets. I just wouldn't head west. The traffic isnt too bad in sandestin

Bistro Bijoux has killer food. Marlin Grill and Seagars can be good but aren't consistent. As others have said, shop at Publix or fight the crowds.

Actually am going to SanDestin tomorrow myself. I'm going to destroy some lobster, king crab legs and shrimp. Then get drunk off pina coladas on the beach every day.

Since you're going to have 6 teenagers with you, I would highly recommend getting pizza from Jordano's one night for dinner. Best pizza I've had on the Miramar Beach stretch, and not outrageously priced like a lot restaurants in Sandestin.

As long as I have seafood (raw oysters preferably) and alcohol, I'll be fine.

Nothing like fresh Maine lobster and Alaskan crab legs on the gulf.

Go to the boat house on the harbor for them. You might just see my drunk arse there eating some on a half shell

At some point it is my mission for a restaurant to tell me I can't have anymore raw oysters because others want to eat them as well.

I'll be there tomorrow also. Looks like we will be driving with this rain system the whole way to Destin. Hope it moves out by Monday.

I'll be there in 2 weeks myself. Can't wait. It's great vacation spot.

Stinky's is a really good place to take the whole crew for dinner. About a 15 minute drive but well worth it. Very good seafood joint.

If you want a good date night with the Mrs., I'd recommend Mitchell's fish market. A tad pricey, but the best damn seabass I've ever eaten. Enjoy!

The Chan's next to publix has a great beer selection.

Stinky's fish camp, up the road just on 30-A, has good food. So does Louis Louis. It's owned by the same people as the Red Bar. It's cash only. There's paddle boarding at the marina. I don't know how much they charge, but they'll let you keep them pretty much as long as you like. If you rented through the resort you get free bike rentals and tram service.

There's a movie theater in the same shopping center as publix. It's a cheaper way to kill time in the rain than letting everyone shop. One of the theaters sells booze, but I think it's 21+. Flemings over there has a killer happy hour in the bar area.
