Passport Question: Wife Maiden Name

Traveling outside of the U.S. in a few weeks (subtle brag) and my wife's Passport is in her maiden name. According to TSA, a certified copy of her marriage license will suffice, but I wanted to see if anyone here has ever had issues?

What's the issue? Is the ticket in her married name?

With the amount of honeymoons that take place outside the country, I seriously doubt this is an issue.

If she didn't get the passport changed, she probably doesn't love you.

Yes... As is her driver's license and Delta will not perform the name change.

You have weeks to change it. Just go ahead and get it changed

Then how will a birth certificate help?

Don't let her follow any random guys into a security booth for a pat down.

This. I would just do an expedited passport request and cross my fingers. Should be enough time.

What part of AL do you live? There are several ways to get a passport quicker

Oh. No worries. I'm not sure to be honest. Is that what the TSA website said? FWIW, the airline may have its own separate policy too. I would try to get that passport changed.

Right. I think there may even be same-day places. I can't remember.

Ticket and passport name have to match.
It's all over the wedding websites that women flock to while they are planning a wedding that you don't purchase your honeymoon plane tickets in your married name because you won't have time to legally change your name.
I've never heard TSA taking a certified marriage certificate. I mean.....they might....but why chance it. Why hasn't your wife changed the passport when she did all her name change stuff?

My wife just renewed hers in the mail, took 3 weeks.

You should have just booked the ticket in her maiden name.
This isn't a TSA issue. It's an immigration issue.

Yeah, I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from. I've been married for 10 years. For most things, my wife has changed her name to my last name, but her passport is still in her maiden name. When we travel outside the U.S., we just book the ticket in her maiden name.
