Amen to that! About 3 summers ago, one swallowed a baited 1/0 worm hook that I was using to catch snappers out of the grandkids' pond here. I had wrapped the hook with bacon and that old coon literally swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. He broke the hook and got away, but I've never heard such a racket before. Yeah, he was ticked off big time. And yes, we've got mountain lions here, too, but no black panthers...yet. I do have a few pics of my ex-mother in law from years and years ago, though. That's proof enough for me that aliens do exist...

I heard my neighbors beagle yelping something fierce one day so I went over to investigate. He had gotten into the shed and a fish hook just down his throat. We cut him loose from the line and called my neighbor who had to take him to the vet to get the hook out.
No way I could remove that hook from the dog.
