airliners are a lot more agile than people imagine, because of certification/mission requirements, their power to weight ratios exceed that of many fighter aircraft, the new wings are incredibly efficient, these are by no means what everyone thinks of as lumbering airliners

They should be. And charge extra. That would make my Memphis to LA flights a tad more exciting!!!
