Wow !!! Didn't know Weber had these

Yesterday evening there was a thread on here about smoking on a Weber kettle grill. I went to the Smokenator website through a link someone had posted. There, I learned of this awesomeness.
A 26.75" Weber grill. 508 inches of cooking surface. A person could use one of these for smoking and grilling. 26.75 Weber
These are pictures of the 22.5 from the Smokenator website. Pretty interesting that in using the SMKR you have multiple cooking surfaces since you can use the charcoal grate also.
Then they came up with a way to add another level <- even though their way is stupid and I wouldn't pay for it. You can just get two 22.5 cooking grates and turn the top one upside down each has two handles that hold them in place. It looks like the legs on this one would get in the way and defeat the purpose of having the extra cook space.
SMKR's:
The way the Weber 22.5 grates have handles you can buy an extra grate and just turn the top grate upside down and it securely sits on top of the first one. I have done it with my WSM. Gives you enough space - height and width wise to do two more racks of ribs.
As stated above these pictures are of the 22.5 Weber with 363 inches of cooking space. The 26.75 Weber has 508 inches or an additional 145 inches of cooking space and that's with just one cooking grate.

This is the next discovery – The Jumbo Joe. It is basically a portable 18” Smokey Joe. The Smokey Joe’s are 14”. Here’s a picture of a Jumbo next to a Smokey.

I love those Webbers, and nice concept, but you know, that bird pic doesn't sell me. You'd think they would put a little more effort into a picture like that to sell their product, maybe one that wasn't cooked so hot.
Sorry, but some of these food pics I see that people put up to draw attention, especially from restaurants really, just makes me scratch my head. I saw one from Portico the other day that had gravy slopped all over the place flowing over the plate and onto other items on the plate. WTF?

Yeah that was my smoking thread. I hadn't thought about the multi-levels but it would be nice for ribs if you're cooking for a crowd. Usually there are just 4 adults eating when I do ribs so a rack or two is plenty.
And the 22.5 inch is just about perfect for me. I had an old 8 inch in college. I'm still mad 10 years later that my wife gave it away. We bought a cheap gas grill for our first apartment when we moved up here, since it was on the 2nd floor and cleaning the ashes was a pain. She asks the maintenance man to take it to the dumpster. A perfectly fine, 5 year old Weber. He kept it. I didn't have it in me to ask for it back. I just chalked it up to Karma and hoped he got several years of good use out of it.
But the sucky thing on the 18 inch was the ash catcher. I'd roll it down a hill at the side of the duplex we rented in Troy and flip it over and shake it all out. This new 22.5 inch one with the ash can is so much better. I can grill like 5-6 times before it fills up with ashes.

Admittedly I've never seen, or cooked on one in person, but it looks lightweight / flimsy for the $1,300 price tag.

I've never seen a crappy Weber product, but that's just me. I'd never buy one, I have no use for it. But I'm sure it's just as well made as everything else they make.

I have actually seen one in person. You have to have three cooks if you were doing pieced chicken, hamburgers or any other small portioned meal. They also are not very portable. It takes 3 or more guys to get the thing in the back of a truck.
I had seen a cooking show where a guy had one or two he used for the show. When I saw the one it was amazing how much bigger it looked in person. That's probably the 26.75 it's sitting next to.

I have seen the Weber Ranch Kettle in person and good lord it's huge! I personally own a 22-1/2" kettle with ash catcher, 18" WSM and a Smoky Joe Mini WSM DIY I made.

I have the 22.5 kettle, and it is fine for two of us. I can indirect cook a large pack of wings, legs, racks of lambs, or a split chicken with no problem.
My neighbor has the 26.75, and it is impressive. He used it to smoke brisket, pork butts, etc. until he got a Weber Smokey Mountain. I can smoke larger items on the 22.5 too, but just one at a time.

Last week I bought a Char-Broil Big Easy gas grill. I love it. It's also A TRU-INFRARED grill and smoker. You "deep Fry" a turkey without using any oil. I paid just 130 bucks for this grill/smoker.

That's crazy. Never have seen anything like that. I have two Smokey Joe's. One is just used for the chimney starter for the WSM. Maybe I should convert it into a mini for trips to Toledo Bend.
Did you do it exactly like the instructions on the link? What have you smoked on it?
Just saw this one. Pretty damn cool. The paint job may be beyond me though.

I love my Weber but am not a big fan of smoking on it. I just hate having to lift the lid every time I need to add wood and the cooking area just doesn't cut it if I want to do smoke big brisket or do more than one cut of meat.

Process was not too difficult and actually kind of fun. This one was my first run at it. Fully functional but the stencil work needs to be improved upon.
I followed the instructions and didn't stray much from it, except that my "paint facility" was my garage and I hurried the process. It was more of a test run and getting it ready for last year's tailgating.

Oops, it's there now. Looks awesome. What do you smoke on it? How long will it run before needing more fuel.

Thanks! That's quite a Weber set up! I don't have a gas weber in my arsenal.
Ive smoked poppers, corn, sausage wrapped with bacon, small pork loins and plenty of wings. It has two racks in it so you'd be surprised at how much you can get on it.
I've run it steady 5 to 6 hours before temp drops slowly adding a few briquettes to keep it going. The bottom just does not hold a lot of briquettes and I need to build a better vent stack in the center to keep the oxygen flowing. The ash tends to build up at the bottom and restrict flow.

I have a Weber Rancher. Definitely nothing flimsy about it, but it really isn't too bad to move around. My wife was able to help me load it into my truck last weekend without too much trouble. My friends refer to it as the UFO.
