I know. The worst is when lights lose power and everyone thinks yellow blinking means treat it like a stop sign.

YELLOW BLINKING = proceed with caution
RED BLINKING = stop sign

Then you can't even drive through the intersection correctly, because everyone is treating it like a four way stop and might hit you

The signal for drivers using East Boyd Drive will become a flashing red light.

Maybe 1/3 of all drivers actually know what a flashing red light means.

I have a feeling this will turn into a demolition derby during rush hour.

Not when it makes your daily commute a living nightmare. Which is what it will do when school starts and people are stopping in the middle of the road to take a left into or out of the parking lot.

roundabout

Noooo. They put in a roundabout by the law center. It backs up every single morning. People trying to enter it come to a complete stop.

Add roundabouts to the list of things Baton Rouge drivers don't know how to handle.

I had a guy approaching from the left stop in the middle of the roundabout by the PMAC to let me get in. It's like, thanks nice guy, but you just made both of our trips less efficient. Just follow the rules and it'll be faster.

What happens in 6 months when they realize there is more wrecks now since before they changed all this?

I can see it now.

"Big changes coming to E Boyd and Burbank. Flashing red and yellow lights to be removed and four way stop to be implemented. Bicycles and pedestrians to have constant right-of-way."

All I know is that I'm happy that I'm going to be living on River road next year. Don't have to deal with Nicholson or Burbank during the day

This is one of the dumbest traffic decisions they've ever made. It would be like someone saying "Oh, no! There's a fire in my kitchen! I better pour gasoline on it!" The issue with people turning had to do with two factors:
1. No turn lanes or signals on Boyd for turning onto Burbank.
2. No turn signals for Burbank turning onto Boyd.

The signals at least can be fixed rather easily and cheaply, and they would FIX the problem. Making Boyd a flashing yellow will just make traffic worse on Lee and Parker. The real issue is the fact that LSU Avenue does not connect to Burbank, Jennifer Jean does not connect to Highland, and Parker does not connect to Nicholson. Until these issues are fixed, people trying to turn from Boyd onto Burbank will be a problem.

Those issues won't be fixed, as far as road connections

Except for Parker Nicholson

EXACTLY.

ETA: simply adding a turning lane along with signal would have alleviated the issue 100000 times more than this retarded idea

Thankfully I haven't lived in BR since graduating LSU....that intersection was always terrible...and Burbank is always hell during football season.

I'm glad I'm graduating and moving out in December, but August-December of that BS is going to be hell.

I've seen outrage over it on Facebook, might be time for an online petition!

This. There was some piss-poor planning along the way. But the train has left the station.
