If you are a right-winger who rants, you're a racist, elitist, sexist, homophobe, angry white bigot.

A left-wing rang and you are standing for equality, no matter how nasty the rang goes.

it is because all views are equal, but some views are more equal than others. the entire liberal mindset is based around the (almost religious) belief that their stance is right and somehow intellectually superior

this hook was actually a big reason i fell for it back in my formative years (ages 16-24 was a HUGE liberal poster on this very board, so there is documented historical data to display this viewpoint). this is a big reason why it's so strong at college. it's all sheep-like thinking through brilliant marketing

and i'm not arguing that there aren't right/wrong viewpoints, but it's the underlying basis for the views. they are both based in irrational confidence in the source, more than the view itself. lib-progs and the ultra religious are very similar in that regard, and when they fight it makes me laugh very hard inside.

but if you want to see a real life example of how this works, just look at how liberals are FULLY ABLE to call women and minorities (that they don't agree with) dumb. why? because the viewpoints of those "conservative" women/minorities is seen as so wrong, they deserve ridicule. why is it wrong? because it is wrong. fox news would NEVER be able to do (to hillary or warren, for exmaple) what SNL and the Daily Show did to Sarah Palin

Only Nixon could go to China.

If the group in question views you as right on their issues, you're not going to be bashed for attacking a member of that group who opposes the beliefs held by the majority of said group. That's really not that hard of a concept. Now I don't think someone on Fox bashing Hillary is necessarily being sexist, but I don't think it's that weird that a woman would look at that, a channel that perpetuates the right wing's war on her gender, with some suspicion as to their motives.
