People that are looking to eat out are not looking for restaurant advise from tigerdroppings.com. We are looking at yelp, google maps, opentable, groupon etc. and we know that not everyone is going to put a good review. When I look at reviews, I just look for trends.

We could always exploit this. Bunch of fake profiles. Bunch of bad reviews. It still wouldn't deter the nostalgia diners, but it would be interesting to watch. That being said, I don't care enough to actually participate

This would actually be hilarious. Anyone familiar with the Battletoads prank? I have a feeling a coordinated TD effort would be something like that.

I must say, I've read all the posts on TD and it amazes me why people feel the need to throw in their "2 cents" so rudely on a restaurant. You don't like it, say specifically why, and don't go. I may be a little biased because it is one of the very few restaurants that deliver downtown in the evenings and on the weekends but I have NEVER had a bad meal, do I wish they had "dinner plates" to be delivered? yep, Breakfast? yep. I have a wealth of other choices on the menu and I indulge in them on a regular basis!!! And guess what, I can go elsewhere. So to the people from Houston, sorry your visit wasn't up to your expectations, but if this is your first visit, give it another try. If it wasn't and this is your first bad visit, SHAME ON YOU for being so publicly rude without ever having also given praise when you had a good visit!! And Mr. Wesley, my Daddy taught me the exact same thing as far as voicing an "opinion" about a meal or service at a restaurant (because that is all it is) ask to speak to a manager politely and without a scene. Not everyone has the same good taste as Pastime customers!!!

The last part is absolutely ridiculous. I wonder if someone asked these loyal customers WHY the food is so good and better than elsewhere, they wouldn't have a real reason.

Ya know.. like WHY is Dolce Vita better than anywhere else? Well, the fresh buffalo mozzarella.. the amazing crust from cooking in a handmade brick oven.. the use of fresh herbs and high quality ingredients..etc.

People aren't bashing Pastime for the hell of it. Like I said, I was the one who WANTED to go there a while back. Why on earth would I bash a place I wanted to go for fun? That's stupid. I was the one having to swallow my pride and admit it was awful after begging to go

And that last sentence.. a joke. There are plenty of thriving places that are garbage. Look how popular WalkOns (lolz), fast food, frozen TV dinners, Red Lobster/Applebee's/Chili's.. are.
Your poor taste and unconcern for quality ingredients doesn't mean we have to share it.

Post it here. I can't see anything now that the group is closed. Really wanted to read what other owners were saying too.

Ah crap. I edited the comment and forgot I was editing, so it's above ^^

I don't know who the restaurant owners are. I'll try to figure it out.

Do those retards not realize that the op and people in the beginning of the thread stated why they didn't like the place and that they probably won't be returning?

This is the same as taking up for your friend in a situation, knowing he is wrong, just because you've been friends forever.

Funny part is, I like all of the other old-timey restaurants I've been to in BR. Anthony's, Pinettas, Fleur de Lis, Sonnys, Poor Boy Lloyd's, El Rio Grande, etc. The only one I don't like is Pastime.

I just looked at their Yelp page, and they have plenty of crappy reviews there too.. so it isn't just us here. I was looking for photos of the pizza, but there are zero. No food photos at al except for a poboy photo. Lame.

I guess now would be a good time to point out that the only other time I've been, I was alone. A homeless man in a hospital bracelet was wandering around inside and asked me for money while I was up at the counter.

Jim Henderson likes it.

I like it. Besides, I've got a gravy guy over there. He hooks it up big time.

That's just it. This has nothing to do with not liking "traditions" or whatever old crap they're trying to defend themselves with.

I love Anthony's. Don't mind Fleur de Lis (don't love it either though). Have always liked Poor Boy Lloyd's. etc.
