People Not In Labor Force Rise To New Record, Participation Rate Remains At 35 Year Lows
by Tyler Durden

Those following the labor force participation rate (which as even the Census Bureau showed is declining not so much due to demographics but due to older people working longer and pushing younger people out of the labor force as we showed yesterday) will hardly be surprised to learn that alongside today's impressive NFP print, the reason why the unemployment rate took another big step lower from 6.3% to 6.1%, was once again as a result of the number of people not in the labor force, which in June rose to a fresh record high of 92,120K, up 111K from June.

One thing I do not understand is why on the one hand, democrats slam GOP obstructionism, and attribute it to the lack of economic progress, but on the other hand, attribute all good news to the white house.
your desperation is showing.

RIPMachoMan Record Number of Americans Not in Labor Force in June Wait, so all Americans 16 and older? What is that number minus the elderly, handicapped, disabled, and homemakers? Oh and the lazy with their hands out?

The dems in this thread have the victim mentality that all the mean rich republicans just wanna keep everyone down! Fitting really.

So how about we just forget the news, the numbers, and everything else that was announced today. Let's just get everyone's completely cursory, singular view, based on what you are exposed to economically:
Would you say the economy has improved for you?
Would you say the economy has improved for you?

Nope.

My dad, on the other hand, would probably state that he has not been doing fine as far as the stock market is concerned, but he has had to pay more for certain things such as health insurance. It would probably come out to a wash.

Print money (QE), buy bonds...stimulate the economy. What does it matter how many participate in productive work or don't. This thing is like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain pulling chains ; sooner or later the curtain goes up. Or rather, goes down.
They had better get to digging oil/NG and ramping up to market it to a desperate world, when the ME goes rogue and shuts down the oil over there.
Utter delusion up there.

I would agree with your statements about your Dad for myself. Everything is more expensive so I have to work longer hours if I want to maintain my same standard of living. I have tightened my budget considerably to feel a little safer. I'm not hurting but things could be better.

I have the feeling that everything is on life support. I'm making about the same, but working harder, and everything is costing a lot more, so I've pulled back on living standard. I see it everywhere. Its like everyone is waiting for this Administration to go away and hoping the next isn't so heavy on regulation/taxes...hoping the economy will have the reigns taken off....
