Kirby vacuums are way over priced

I dont understand the hate for Kirbys. My parents is roughly 20 years old and works better than any vacuum my wife and I have ever owned.

I just bought this one and it is awesome. I used a Dyson while at my parents house and I'd say this is on par with it.

Go to a-1 vacuum on florida blvd in the hood in br and buy whatever that guy recommends.

I had a bottom of the line, Walmart special Hoover that survived for the better part of 6 years, so sometimes you get more than you pay for.

I recently upgraded to a Eureka with suction seal ($150ish at Walmart) and am super glad I did. I can turn off the roller to suck up all the dog hair on the wood floors.

That being said, I did kill this new one with a cheap rug (pulled a thread and locked up the roller). Took it to A-1 and the guy was really nice and helpful; took the time to explain the part and that it is the part that will break on that model of vacuum (some sort of plastic gear that connects the belt to the roller get stripped).

My mom got a Sebo probably 15 years ago and that thing is still alive and kickin' (that German engineering is a beast!), so if you can afford to spend big and buy quality, it is worth it in the long run.

TL;DR

Spend the extra if you can afford it; if not, read reviews and/or talk to the guy at A-1 Vacuum Cleaner on Florida Blvd.

I bought a Dyson almost 7 years ago, still works awesome. Spending $125 or less, you will definitely get a piece of shite that will prolly only work for a few months.
