On a good source (owner of best restaurant in Houma), who will be involved with the project, this is what will be opening up in the old Dempseys on Jefferson. Will be focused more on dinner, with large wine selection, great outdoor seating, two large bars, and a "warm industrial" feel per his words.

SIAMentioned. If not, happy to share the scoop.

Spahr's just hired a new GM who is in charge of all of their restaurants. Had an excellent meal at the Des Allemands location last week, best I've had there since the late-90s. Seems like the guy is intent on rejuvenating the chain.

I hope it's still going to be open for lunch. My job is not far from there, so I'd like to be able to have that place as a reliable lunch spot.

Wait. I thought City Pork was the sysco charcuterie place. Aren't there some haters? I haven't lived in BR in a few years and haven't tried it on a trip back because I thought people said it wasn't that good.

The only people who hate it are the snobs that post on this board. The portions were also a little smaller at first, so some people thought they weren't getting a good value. Now, it at least appears that there's a little more meat on the sandwiches so they feel more worth it.

No one ever proved that they are a sysco establishment.

You're missing out, im a big fan of the place.

Um no. The understanding is that they aren't making their charcuterie in house anymore. That's not hating. It is just disappointing IMO and you can call it being snobby if you want. If they are ordering it from Sysco, anybody can order it. It's not a unique product. Doesn't mean I won't go there or that it isn't good.

ETA: And what Rutiger said.
