Will Julian Green play any part in this World Cup?

So far, it's an obvious no. He played some in the run up games before the tournament, and didn't really impress me tbh. But will Jurgen throw him out there at some point or was this just an experience thing having him in the squad? Our options are pretty thin, especially after the Jozy thing. He's listed as a striker, right? Surely he could add something late in a game running at a tired defense.

No

he was brought in for the WC experience and to make sure he doesn't play for Germany. He's not ready for this level yet.

And this is coming from one of the biggest Green fan boi's on this board.

Meh he's a totally different player Jozy is a target strike who can hold the ball while the rest of the team comes up. Green is more of that Robben type winger who can play as a tweener b/w attack and midfield.

I'm sure he plays a vital role in training every day.

It's bullshite

Looking at some of the guys we brought, Jurgen never plans to play some of them. Which gets back to LD.

Given how every other LW option has played up to this point, I want to see Green start against Belgium.

It's the round of 16. It's time to go for it.

This assumes that Julian has continued to do well in practice.

I understand that no one was overly impressed by Green in his 2 appearances, but he at least brings speed, dribbling, and a willingness to attack.

It's impossible to tell.

Who here would have believed that Deandre Yedlin would play a large role in 2 of out the 3 games so far? And who here would have believed that Brad Davis would start against Germany?

I'll admit I haven't followed Green outside of the usual highlight clips but what makes a 19 yr old like Raheem Sterling able to start for England and Green not contribute at all?

Is Sterling just further along or was England just struggling for depth?

No, and he shouldn't. We all knew this going in.

I think he'll play at winger before we make our exit.

He might play. If there isn't a possibility, then I don't know why his name is on the roster.

The only way we would have seen Green would have been by beating Portugal and having a game to spare against Germany.

Green is listed as a midfielder.

I know this has been beaten to death, but is there any doubt that Landon would be making a major impact if he was named to the squad? He seems like a no-brainer to play in an attacking midfield or wide role.
