Yep. It makes one look ignorant to deny NS was the main catalyst to LSU becoming a national power. Were there other factors? Sure, but to say that one of the greatest coaches in CFB history wasn't instrumental, is retarded.

true, however instrumental and responsible are two separate things. In the time that Saban has been gone the program could have easily gone to hell in a hand basket. To say that he is responsible for where the program is at today is the same as saying as the program is completely self-sustaining...which is equally as retarded.

But he wasn't "the main catalyst." I don't know how one could come to that conclusion. He was key but so were others.
Too many examples of great coaches that helped to build a program up, only for that program to crumble once they left. People brush off what's Les is doing as though it's the standard, like coaches routinely keep a winning program going.
In fact Les has already surpassed everything Saban accomplished while he was here by a wide margin.
