Gotcha. Hang in there man. Be the best dad you can be and let the rest come to you.

I know it can seem there are no good women left in this world, particularly if you spend any amount of time here on the OT. But there are still good decent women out there despite all you read on here. How old is your boy?

There are good women out there bro. Live your life the right way and you won't even have to look, they'll find you. There are many "what about me" attitude women out there to be sure but I'm living proof that there are also some good ones because I found one. Out there somewhere, is a good hearted woman that would love the privilege of helping you shape that young man's life. Like I said, just live right and be patient. Don't "settle" just to fill the void in your or his life. Pick the right one so the little man don't have to see you go through that twice.

couldn't say really.
my parents got divorced when I was 16. I think maybe I started to feel sorry for myself much later on though (early 20s).
got drunk all the time.
which was stupid.
lost my job.
went to rehab.
stuff like that.
Finally just got to a point where I decided I was going to do something about that. Sometimes you find your answers early on during hard times, sometimes you don't.
but you owe it to yourself, family, and friends to keep going.
