I'm curious to see the board's opinions. I'm feeling adventurous so I'm trying to decide whether I want to try Philly Me Up, Omi, or a sushi place today

Sushi Masa if you are not a fan of raw, their AYCE is lacking with raw stuff.

Kaminari buffet is $10 and has great hibachi. Sushi is pretty good for a buffet. I always get my money worth

Drunken fish, and it's not even close.

Surprisingly, Rock N Sake has a great lunch deal. $12 for soup/salad/specialty roll/soft drink.

But really, all places offer lunch specials that are a steal.

Sorry but I feel like y'all have dropped the ball on this one, and are steering the OP in the wrong direction. I've been to Kaminari twice, and was unimpressed both times. Sushi Masa, in my opinion, is much better, and it's not even close. Their rolls are better, their raw is better, their salads and apps and sides are better, plus it's all made to order.

I'd say Sushi Masa >>> Nagoya >>> Kaminari

Sushi Masa is the best value deal in town. There's enough on that AYCE lunch menu to build your own specialty roll. Ask for a few sauces (sriracha, spicy mayo, ponzu, and eel sauce), order either the snowcrab salad or spicy kani salad, and order any roll you like. At lunch there's no sashimi but the nigiri is fine. We really enjoy their spicy salmon hand roll (ask them to chop the salmon into small pieces) which we add crunchy batter and snowcrab to. Great deal if you don't want to spend 100 bucks on sushi for two.

Kaminari is disgusting.

When I was at LSU my go-to places were Wahada and Sushi Yama.

How is this even a debate? Sushi Masa is the only correct answer

Would I be violating some kind of FDB taboo if I said Koi?
