The comments about both MKT 701 and ACCT 701 have been terrifying for me, as I was planning to try and double them up next year. It seems painful that ACCT 701, MKT 701, FIN 701, and MADM 701 are always offered together and all seem to be difficult courses to double up on.

If I end up splitting MKT 701 and ACCT 701, it means one additional semester, which seems painful... Torn on what to do. Hoping the issues iron themselves out in the interim.

I noticed that no one ever talks about the thesis. Is a thesis not required for this program?

With ACCT 701, you should be fine to take two courses if you take Ambrosio, Fabio. According to this forum, he is the better option anyway.

I took MKT 701 (James) and ACCT 701 (Ambrosio) together. Although I received As in both, I would not recommend taking both together. That was a difficult pairing for me, especially working full time. I have taken three courses together and it was fine, so you can gauge that pairing. I had to actually take a break from the program after that pairing.

I doubled up on both this term. It was a massive challenge to juggle those classes the past few weeks.

MKT 701 by itself was a 30+ hour commitment for at least 5 of the 7 weeks. Dr. James is a great instructor from an engagement standpoint, as she's very approachable and seems to genuinely care about success in the course. It looks like I'll end up with an A there.

The content in ACCT 701 is very straightforward and you know exactly what you need to read well ahead of time. The issue in ACT 701 is specifically with McGee: extremely strict, bold red letters everywhere commanding students to not bother emailing her any questions whatsoever, completely on autopilot, very disengaged from the course, dismissive of issues with the exams. I'm currently sitting on a B that would have been an A had it not been for so many technical issues with the tests and a final exam that was very different from the practice exam she provided.

My suggestion, again, if you have a full time job and a life outside of work, take MKT 701 by itself. ACCT 701 is very doable doubled up with another course, just be very aware that with McGee any mistake made on any test, either your own or otherwise, will be very costly to your grade.
