I'm planning on taking 751 as well next term and have heard great things. I run my own business so the more I can learn about entrepreneurship the better.
I'd also love to get a copy of the syllabus if anyone has it. socal77@gmail.com
Thanks.

I am taking Mkt 701 and Acct 701 for Fall AP1. Does anyone have any insight for Mkt? Syllabus? Dr. Darrat is teaching it. I've been told Acct is easy so I'm not worried about it. Any help is appreciated.

Proctoria or Proctor U? It states Proctor U. I rather proctoria because you can take whenever opposed to having to schedule. The exam is only open one day which happens to be a horribly busy day for myself.

Meeks is the best instructor. You actually LEARN which is the goal right? Many others are just an over kill. University of Louisiana at Lafayette is offering the same program without the overkill. This program has changed alot in 2017. So those posting prior to were on a different level. Now, you best stop living for 7 weeks. Just wish the actual learning experience could be better and make it more enjoyable.

Would anyone have the E-text for ISDS 705 that they would be willing to share? I have the hard-copy but with the number of definitions and stuff he is asking us to study I think the e-text would be much quicker. Thanks in advance

How so? Are you referring to the proctoring?

In reference to ISDS 705, this is the info I found for test #3 in Moodle, I can only assume it is the same for all 3 tests: I do wonder if we have to print out our notes, I keep all of mines on my computer & laptop, given my current location I would have to drive almost 6 hours to the nearest city just to have access to a printer, & even then I would have to get permission just to do that. I'll have to email him about that later to see what he says since I've never taken a proctored online exam in my life prior to this class, anyways here's the information:
"ISDS 705 tests (test #1, #2, and #3) are open-book exam. And the proctors are aware that our exams are open book. Textbook (either printed or e-book) along with your homework, all of printouts, case study, website information, messages, notes, and attachments MUST be kept handy during the test time period since you need to refer to several of materials during the test."
Test #3 questions consist of 50 objective test items: most (on average more than 80%) are multiple-choice format, and several (on average less than 20%) are true-false questions. Each question is worth 2 points.

No, proctoring is not an issue. I rather protoria over proctorU because proctoria allows you to take the exam whenever. The course information is changing up. The structure of the courses itself is much different than before like MKT 701 and MADM 752 based on what is read on here. Things are much different. As a student you have nothing to compare to because you only take a class once but what you here from different students the program seems to be harder.

Do you feel there's a correlation between the difficulty of the program and it's rising popularity?

I'd say for sure. Haven't looked at the number of recent graduates, but that could be a reason the AACSB has pushed for a more strict program. (Proctoring etc.)

I talked to a guy who previously took 705 with Lin. He said the questions were not hard on the exams and considered it an easier class than most others.
Had Lin for 702 and agree with this. The challenge was the chapter count for each exam, not the questions themselves. Exam questions and answers weren't intentionally tricky - I recall them being verbatim from the text. If you've got an e-text, I'm sure a find function will come in handy.

Amos, I'm hoping "find" function in textbook PDFs will be allowed. From the wording of Dr. Lin's email it sounds like it will be.
I agree that the class structure within the last year has gotten noticeably more challenging. I took MKT 701 as my first course in the program last year. It was nothing like what it has been described as now.

Anyone who took FIN 710 or any class with Hsieh... do the quantitative questions on his exams mirror the problems on his class materials document?
